Historique :	Atelier ou entourage de Guillaume-Ernest Grève (1580-1639), peintre allemand qui fit toute sa carrière en Avignon. Un tableau du même artiste représentant une Annonciation avec saint François de Sales est conservé au musée de la Visitation de Moulins. L'oeuvre est rapprochée par Marie-Claude Léonelli (conservateur des antiquités et objets d'art) d'un Portement de Croix d'après Michel Coxcie (Malines, vers 1499- Malines, 1592, huile sur bois) conservé au musée des Beaux-Arts de Valenciennes et d'un Triptyque Portement de croix, Crucifixion, Vierge de Pitié de l'église Saint-Hilaire de Lencloîte (Vienne) classé Monuments historiques le 10/07/1909.
