Précision_sur la representation :	Dans une scène d’intérieur, au premier plan, trois femmes s’occupent du nouveau-né, Marie. Au pied du personnage de droite, se trouvent une corbeille de linge et une bassine d’eau. A gauche, deux femmes s’avancent vers l’enfant. Dans le fond de la pièce, Anne est allongée sur un lit. Une servante ajuste sa couverture. Dans l’encadrement d’une porte, un homme âgé, sans doute Joachim, l’époux d’Anne, converse avec une servante. Dieu apparaît dans les nuées, sous les traits d’un vieillard barbu, encadré de putti.
