Précision_sur la representation :	Joseph est représenté au centre de la composition, alité, portant une chemise blanche. Il regarde sur sa gauche, un ange, vêtu d'une tunique rouge et d'un manteau bleu, lui indiquant le ciel de son index et son majeur droit. A gauche de la composition, la Vierge Marie est représentée en manteau bleu avec un voile gris. Elle ouvre les paumes en direction de l'ange. Au pied du lit, un ange regarde le spectateur. Il est vêtu d'une tunique claire et tient une branche de lys dans sa main gauche, une autre branche de lys jonche le sol. En arrière-plan apparaît une percée lumineuse, révélée par deux putti ouvrant un rideau. Sur la partie droite du ciel figure un putto dans une nuée grise.
